A Multi-Layered Process: Estimating the Cost Per Label
All companies want to be able to estimate their approximate cost per label before investing in a printing solution; however, many elements will effect GHS compliant label production in addition to the information and format contained on that label. There are minimum standards of durability for the materials, adhesives and inks adherence contained in the legislation. In addition, if the labelled product is to be shipped to foreign countries over salt water, those labels are subjected to greater durability requirements through the application of BS5609 certification. The following chart applies this standard to the three primary printing technologies to help estimate the per print cost for 8 ½ ‘x 11” and 4” x6” labels most typically used.
